Montessori’s Pre-Toddler Program is offered at our Rougemount Campus (905) 509-4547, Village Campus (905)
427-5006, Westney Campus (905) 426-5665 Oshawa Campus (905) 721-1933 /(416) 934-8597 and Whitby Campus ( 905) 665-1516 for
children 12 to 16 months old. The
Pre-Toddler Program prepares your child for the Toddler Program by
encouraging a tranquil separation, stabilizing gross motor skills and
developing independence. Due to the
demand for our Pre-Toddler Programs, the school may request that your child
graduate to the Toddler class at 16 months old. The teacher to child ratio for this
program is 1:3. We do not have Open
Houses for this program as parents are usually given a personal tour. Please call the campus that you are
interested in.
Blaisdale Montessori's Toddler Program offers
your child a combination of Day Care and Montessori activities for the 16
month old to 3 year old. We have
half day or full day sessions available.
Toddler Programs are offered at all of Blaisdale’s Campuses. The Campuses are open from 7:00 a.m. to
6:00 p.m. (Milner Campus 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
Your
child will be gradually introduced to the Montessori portion of our Program
with fun activities that include:
independence (e.g. learning how to button, zipper and snap
clothing); use of materials for the discrimination of size, shape and
colour; and games that develop your child's hand co-ordination, making it
easier for him/her when he/she starts to read and write. Other activities are planned to stimulate
curiosity and creativity, manipulation of art materials, self-esteem,
social and communication skills, and gross motor skills.
The daily activities include a circle for songs and stories, outside play,
and arts and crafts. In keeping with
Montessori's philosophy of giving children the best, the only refreshments
that are served in the school are fruits and vegetables. Your child will be assigned a day of the
week to bring in refreshments.
On admission, please send 2 extra sets of clothing for your child
and 3 boxes of Kleenex. If your
child is in diapers, please maintain a supply of diapers and diaper
wipes. If your child is staying all
day, he/she will need his/her favourite crib-sized blanket, a fitted crib
sheet and a nutritious lunch (please avoid sugar-laden foods). Please note, we offer an optional 3 to 5
day Hot Lunch Program. Contact your
Campus office for a registration form.
To register your child, send a $100 Registration Fee
attached to the Application Form and Statement of Account.
