Welcome to Blaisdale Montessori School

Blaisdale Montessori  School will be opening a campus in

Whitby in September 2005.

200 Byron St. South (corner of Byron St. and Colborne St.)

Open House Thursday August 25th at 7:00 p.m.

The new Whitby campus is located in a heritage style house.   It is an ideal setting for a small traditional Montessori school.   The school has a small Toddler class (16 months – 3 years).  It also has a small Casa class (3 years – 6 years) with a maximum of 20 children.    The teachers are transferring from Blaisdale’s existing campuses.   The main Casa teacher has over 4 years teaching experience with our School.   The main Toddler Teacher has over 7 years experience.    There is still some space left in the Casa class and the Toddler Class is now full.   We will be having a summer program at this campus.  This campus small, we intend to remain here permanently, however, we are planning to start a much larger campus in Whitby which will go from infant to grade  8.    This campus will open in either September 2006 or September 2007.    This campus will be designed with the same high quality and standard that parents have come to know and trust of Blaisdale Montessori School.   We have not decided on a location, all the Details will follow as they unfold.

Welcome to Blaisdale Montessori School

Celebrating 36 years of Educational Excellence this September

1969 – 2005

Blaisdale Montessori School was founded in 1969 by Mrs. Eleanor Wilson. The school began on the corner of Blaisdale Rd. and Kecala, Scarborough has grown to include 8 campuses throughout Pickering, Scarborough and Ajax (East of Toronto). Mrs. Wilson was one of the original founding members of the C.C.M.A.

Amoung the goals for which we strive are: a sound basis and a healthy attitude for life-long learning, self discipline, self-respect, independence, getting along with others while developing a social conscience, initiative, ability to concentrate, self-confidence, spiritual growth and a respect for the environment. In regard to discipline, we use the Adlerian approach which is based on respect for the child, and encourages the concept of self worth.
